W4 presents Cellophilia New Music For Up To Eight Cellos
My composers collective West 4th New Music presents Cellophilia, a concert dedicated to the cello. From solos to octets, some with video, others with electronics, this program celebrates the versatility of one of our most beloved instruments. The evening features music of established composers Steve Reich, Michael Gordon, and John Zorn alongside works by emerging young artists. Eight gifted New York cellists showcase the eclectic mix of styles. Not to miss! Works by Steve Reich, Yoav Shemesh, Michael Gordon, Tim Hansen, John Zorn, Matt Frey, Robert Karpay, Sarah Kirkland Snider. The NYU Contemporary Music Ensemble plays Bash at the Bang on a Can Marathon. Also 11 hours and 50 minutes of other great music. This is a no-brainer, you're crazy if you don't go here! In New York, NY.

The Aspen Academy Orchestra premieres my brand new Second Symphonic Miniature. In Aspen, CO.

July 20, 8.30pm
The Aspen Contemporary Ensemble premieres my brand new quintet (title TBA). In Aspen, CO.

April 26, 2013
The entrepreneurial Wild Rumpus Collective premieres my brand new octet (title TBA). In San Francisco, CA.
